We're seeking a talented Financial Planning Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team in Sydney. In this role, you'll drive key aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. You'll collaborate across the Group on diverse projects, delivering actionable insights and recommendations that shape strategic decision-making.

To succeed, you'll bring strong financial acumen, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a high-performing environment is essential.

About the role

  • Oversee the Management Reporting (Historical, Budget and Forecasting) across the business.
  • Support the business to drive financial performance through improved reporting and analysis.
  • Lead on the provision of market and competitor analysis to the business.
  • Together with the Head of FP&A, oversee the planning and delivery of the Group annual budgets.
  • Partner with the ELT members in the preparation of the budget for corporate and shared service functions such as Finance, Human Resources, and IT.
  • Preparation of month end reporting for corporate and shared service functions including variance analysis
  • Lead regular meetings with business partners to review performance, discuss budget variances, and forecast updates.
  • Partner with business leaders in various projects as appropriate, conducting financial analysis, evaluating business cases, and providing recommendations to support key strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with member firm Finance Managers and ELT members to gather insights, understand operational drivers, and ensure accuracy of P&Ls, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Act as a liaison between the FP&A team and other firms/cost centres to facilitate timely and effective communication of financial information.
  • Lead the implementation of an FPA software solution across the group and support the training of the broader finance team in this new software.
  • Collaborate with IT and member firm finance teams to enhance FP&A tool usage and improve related processes
  • Ensure compliance with IPH Group policies and procedures, including reporting requirements under the accounting controls framework
  • Lead on developing and implementing process improvements
  • Ad hoc projects and other duties as directed

About you

  • Solid partnering experience with senior stakeholders in a complex, high performing environment on critical business deliverables such as financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic analysis.
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles and operational processes with the ability to drive the business to successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience working autonomously, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively with limited supervision
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organisation, with strong business acumen, including the ability to engage clearly and effectively with Senior Leaders and Executive level Stakeholders.
  • Dedication to providing quality internal and external client service, with the drive to improve and exceed stakeholder's expectations
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with a solution focussed approach and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork with demonstrated experience in using initiative and proactively contributing to change and transformation projects
  • Degree qualified in Accounting with CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) with over 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with large ERP systems
  • Previous knowledge of Microsoft D365 (finance systems) an advantage
  • Professional services industry experience an advantage
