About the School Workforce Directorate

The School Workforce Directorate develops and implements initiatives to support school workforce strategy and planning and leads the delivery of attraction and engagement programs for teachers. It manages the recruitment and placement process for all NSW Public Schools and oversees the department's relationship with initial teacher education providers and National Education Standards Authority.

About the role 

The Advisor - Attraction Programs supports the work of the Teacher Attraction Initiatives team within the School Workforce Directorate. Responsible for promoting career opportunities for current and future teachers across NSW, as well as communicating the teacher value proposition (TVP) of the NSW Department of Education, this team develops and maintains effective working relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise to the Department of Education and join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about public education and committed to delivering the Plan for NSW Public Education.   

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate experience in monitoring and implementing workflows that support project delivery.
  • Provide timely guidance and updates to internal and external stakeholders on various teacher attraction initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient communications channels and related tools.
  • Be highly organised with the ability to tackle multiple competing priorities.
  • Have experience supporting the preparation and maintenance of documentation.

Essential requirement of the role 

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in Communications, Marketing, Business, Education, Human Resource Management, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake interstate and intrastate travels to meet delivery requirements of campaigns.
  • Hold a valid driver's licence (provisional or above)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Key knowledge and experience 

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
