Epworth HealthCare is seeking a passionate and experienced Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) Clinical Nurse Consultant to champion quality and safety in our service. In this pivotal role, you'll be a clinical expert and trusted advisor, driving evidence-based infection prevention, leading quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring our practices are always accreditation-ready.

You'll work closely with our Quality, Safety, and Clinical Governance team to embed Epworth's Clinical Governance Framework across IPAC services, coordinate audits and compliance reporting, and support the development and implementation of policies and protocols. Your leadership will foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and exceptional patient outcomes.

This is a 12 month fixed-term, part time (0.6 EFT) opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 2 years' experience as a clinical nurse consultant in IPAC
  • A strong track record in quality and safety initiatives
  • In-depth knowledge of infection control regulations and requirements, particularly the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards—especially Standard 3: Preventing and Controlling Infections—and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or Public Health (or working towards)
