Assistant Nurse Unit Manager

About the role:
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Nurse Unit Manager with experience in theatre to join our clinical team on a full time basis. Monday to Friday flexible roster, with occasional Saturday shifts.
Duties and responsibilities:
This role provides support to the Hospital Management Team and manages the perioperative department through leadership, mentoring and clinical governance to ensure effective operation of the hospital.
- Deliver hospital outcomes in clinical aspects, quality improvement, administration and leadership
- Manage labour and consumable costs
- Comply with the Infection Prevention & Control Program and NSQHS Standards
- Support nursing team to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
- Ensure that patient safety and communication with surgical team is always a key focus
- Deliver education and support to patients for the management of their recovery
About You:
You have a genuine passion for nursing, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:
- Solid experience in a comparable leadership role (theatre / perioperative setting preferred)
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or similar
- Experience as a scrub scout
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience with Quality Improvement activities, Infection Control Management and Accreditation processes
- A background in private day hospitals preferred
