Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.

About the role

As the Early Career Programs Coordinator, you'll play a strategic role in shaping Legal Aid NSW's future workforce by delivering high-quality graduate, internship, and student programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about talent development and stakeholder engagement.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement early career programs that align with Legal Aid NSW's strategic Workforce Plan.
  • Collaborate with universities, employment providers, and the Public Service Commission to attract and engage high-potential candidates.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition Business Partners to support recruitment campaigns, assessment processes, and hiring activities.
  • Coordinate onboarding, rotations, and development activities, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for program participants.
  • Lead program planning, stakeholder engagement, and evaluation, driving continuous improvement and long-term success.

This role is central to building a strong pipeline of future talent and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the careers of emerging legal professionals and the legal sector.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
