Fast Labour Hire provides skilled labour to the residential and commercial construction industry throughout Brisbane and all over Australia. A significant part of our business is also undertaking subcontract work where we have our own qualified tradespeople to carry our work for carpentry.

The Role & What We Are Looking For

Fast Labour Hire requires a fulltime qualified Carpenter to assist with the increased volume of work we are receiving for both commercial and residential niches.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 - 8 years' experience in carpentry, have all tools and own transport, and have the physical ability to perform all aspects of carpentry. This should include first and second fix.

The Successful Applicant will:

  • Cert 3 in Carpentry
  • CIC induction card (White card)
  • Experience in all aspects of carpentry, first and second fix
  • Own tools (including framing gun, second fix gun and drop saw)
  • Must have a current driver's license and reliable transport
  • A proven background in construction projects
  • Ability to read and understand plans
  • The ability to work independently and respond promptly to requests
  • The ability to maintain a high standard of workmanship without supervision
  • Perform all duties to a high standard
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently to complete tasks and manage a high-volume workload
  • The ability to prioritise and organise workload
  • The ability to follow systems, processes and guidelines
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service
  • A strong technical understanding and strong understanding of OHS responsibilities and practices

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Erecting general framework, subflooring, and Door install and setting out house frames
  • Door and door hardware install.
  • Site set out and completing take-offs as required
  • Repairing existing wood and framework on buildings
  • Reviewing plans, permits and specifications to ensure the jobs are being completed as per the agreed scope of work
  • Installation and repair of eave linings and cladding, building decks and other general carpentry work
