About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Support Worker to join our team. The successful applicant will be providing 2:1 support to participants living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment. The role involves assisting individuals to achieve their goals, maintain their independence, and participate in community activities, while ensuring their safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care (assistance with hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility).
  • Support participants with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, household duties, and medication prompts (as required).
  • Facilitate community access — supporting participants to engage in social, recreational, and community-based activities.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a 2:1 support team, following individual care plans and behaviour support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and incident reports.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and the support team.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar support role (preferably within SIL settings).
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (if required for community access).
  • Up-to-date NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion.
  • Valid Police Check

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern.
  • Manual handling and medication administration training.
