Live-in opportunity combining housekeeping and caring support for an independent 90-year-old woman

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, reliable individual to provide both housekeeping services and companion care for a 90-year-old woman who maintains her independence but appreciates support with daily activities. This live-in position offers the unique opportunity to become part of the household while maintaining your own private space.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping

  • Food shopping and meal planning
  • General house cleaning and maintenance
  • Laundry, ironing, and changing bed linens
  • Maintaining a clean, comfortable living environment

Companion Care

  • Providing transportation to medical appointments and social outings
  • Cooking meals or assisting with food preparation
  • Offering general assistance with daily activities as needed
  • Being a friendly companion and providing emotional support
  • Overnight presence for peace of mind and emergency response

Position Details

  • Arrangement: Live-in position with private accommodation provided
  • Location: South Yarra, Melbourne
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday primary duties, with flexibility for weekends and evenings as needed

In addition, you'll have:

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Previous housekeeping experience in private residences
  • Demonstrated elderly care experience, preferably live-in
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Vulnerable Persons check (or ability to obtain)
  • Excellent communication skills and high level of discretion
  • Patience, empathy, and genuine care for elderly people
  • Reliability and trustworthiness
  • Physical ability to perform housekeeping and assist with mobility if needed
  • Comfortable with live-in arrangements and maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Independent, self-sufficient, and respectful of shared living space
