DIESEL FITTER / AUTO ELECTRICIAN - BDS KOWANYAMA

We are currently seeking qualified Diesel Fitter/Auto Electrician for full-time, permanent positions based in Kowanyama. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, reputable, and secure company.

The successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience on trucks and trailers
  • Heavy earthmoving experience a bonus
  • Strong fault finding skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Truck license preferred
  • Extra skills, experience, tickets and licenses will be advantageous

Your duties will include:

  • Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds
  • General Repairs/maintenance works – Trucks & Trailers/4×4's/Earthmoving
  • Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
  • Checking vehicle lighting systems
  • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Installing new vehicle wiring systems.
  • Installing and troubleshooting immobilizer and alarm systems.
  • Gathering information from customers about issues with their electrical system.
  • Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action.
  • Providing customers with estimated time and cost for repairs.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems.
  • Servicing of electrical automotive parts
