Job Description
Hunter Shafiz Lawyers is offering a remote Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement opportunity for eligible PLT students (preferably Juris Doctor candidates) based in New South Wales. This is an unpaid position, with a commitment of up to two days per week.

During your placement, you will gain hands-on legal experience and be assessed on your practical legal skills. You will be actively involved in real legal matters and supported by experienced practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Filing documents with the courts
  • Liaising with clients, courts, government departments and experts
  • General administrative duties

Eligibility

  • PLT students only (law students will not be considered)
  • Based in New South Wales
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Immediate start preferred

About You

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A second language is desirable but not required
  • Familiarity with LEAP software is an advantage

Important: Our firm uses LEAP legal software, which is not compatible with MacBooks. Applicants with Windows-based laptops will be preferred.
