Home Carer (Home Care Support Worker)

Wongaburra is a community based not for profit organisation that provides residential aged care and home care services to the local community of Beaudesert and surrounding regions.

We are currently recruiting Casual Carers / Support Workers for our Home Care team.

About the role:

Our Home Care Support Workers support and encourage our elderly clients to live independently and enhance their daily quality of life.  They do this through providing our clients with a range of services including one-on-one in-home personal care assistance, domestic assistance, support for lifestyle/social activities, and medication assistance (where qualified).  Our Home Care Support Workers build trusting and meaningful relationships with our clients to enable them to feel safe and valued.

About you:

We place a high value on the personal qualities that you can bring to this role and to our team.  You must have a genuine motivation to make a difference to the lives of our elderly clients.  This includes demonstrating care, empathy, compassion, patience, and understanding.  We also are looking for individuals who are reliable, trustworthy, and have an ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

In addition to your stellar personal qualities, you will also possess the following:

· A Certificate III in Individual Support (or similar/equivalent qualification)

· Current open QLD drivers licence, with a good driving history

· National Police Certificate

· Evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia

· Current CPR and First Aid certificates

· Medication Competency certificate (desirable)
