About the role
Due to growth in the department, we are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Officer to join our Gastroenterology and Hepatology team. This role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 30th June 2026 (with a strong likelihood of extension through to February 2027).
The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Liverpool Hospital and Ingham Institute, is involved in multiple studies in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) including the implementation and integration of digital technology to inform value-based health care in IBD; patient-clinician communication studies, pregnancy and transition in IBD, perianal Crohn's disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis. The Department also collaborates in multicentre investigator-initiated studies and industry funded clinical trials.
We are seeking a Research Officer who will work primarily on projects within the Department of Gastroenterology and Liver at Liverpool Hospital. The projects will be focused on value-based health care in IBD using digital technology and will be clinical in nature. A focus for 2026 will also include using digital technology to optimise gastroenterology diagnostic clinic referral triage
As a Clinical Research Officer, you will have the following experience, at minimum:
- BSc or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to adhere to and comply with relevant SOPs and Policies, including ensuring participant confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to write and develop SOPs and study documents as required
- Previous research experience.
- Previous experience working with databases.
- Demonstrated good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to converse with diverse groups (e.g. students, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good judgement with an ability to balance the needs of all stakeholders.
- Ability to meet deadlines and exceed agreed goals.
