Our practice is a small but busy 2 doctor bulk billing practice dedicated to holistic clinical excellence and sincere care. Our opening hours are varied from Monday to Saturday. We are looking for a casual medical receptionist (approx. 15 to 20 hrs/week) who will slot into our team easily and is able to complete the following tasks.

Job Summary:

  • Greeting patients; Scheduling of appointments, record patient arrival and informing patients of any delays; Organising recall and reminder appointments

  • Answering calls promptly and courteously; Manage daily incoming and outgoing mail, emails and faxes

  • Liaising with external departments such as pathology, specialist and maintenance personnel, as well as liaising with the practice Doctors regarding paperwork and follow-up any issues.

  • Advise patients of billing policies (bulk billing); issue invoices, process payments and provide receipts for consumables; Maintain petty cash records; Ensure the billing and electronic submission of batches is correct.
  • Routine stocking of doctors rooms; Ensure reception and waiting room clean and tidy; Ordering of supplies when required.
  • Checking of vaccine fridge every morning and night to record temperature range
  • Additional Duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally, at least 1 year of experience in a related role
  • Previous experience with Best Practice
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with team members; Should also be able to multi-task, show initiative and prioritise jobs throughout the day.
  • Time management and organisation skills are key to ensure deadlines are met, whilst maintaining attention to detail

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
