The Role:

Workshop Mechanic – Oil & Gas Services

Perth-based | Travel required- Ad hoc basis- Nationally | Permanent role

We are seeking a trade-qualified mechanic / mechanical fitter to join our operations team in Perth. This is a hands-on role that combines workshop maintenance with national field support. You will play a key part in keeping our specialist fleet safe, reliable, and ready to mobilise at short notice.

Rosters: Monday-Friday (when workshop based)

Expected split of time will be 60% workshop, 30% site, 10% RnR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair a wide range of oil & gas service equipment, including:
  • Nitrogen pumping units and booster compressors
  • Hydraulic power packs, diesel engines, and generators
  • Pressure testing rigs, pipework, and associated tooling
  • Minor repairs to vehicles and assessments
  • Support mobilisation readiness by inspecting, certifying, and preparing equipment for site.
  • Provide reactive support for urgent repairs both in workshop and on-site.
  • Work closely with supervisors and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and keep projects moving.
  • Carry out inspections, fault-finding, and commissioning on high-spec equipment
  • Uphold WSG's strong safety and compliance culture — ensuring all work is carried out to client and industry standards.
  • Ensure gear is safe, compliant, and mobilised to site-ready standard.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous oil & gas or industrial services experience highly regarded (nitrogen services a strong advantage).
  • Ability to travel and work reactively when projects demand.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safe, efficient solutions.
  • Perth-based (workshop is your home base).
