At Stomble we're an exciting startup looking for a highly experienced cloud architect to join our team. We are a small startup bootstrapping our way forward with a group of eager engineers and designers already with a high level of ambition to build and deliver our MVP product to the world.

Stomble is creating, developing and building infrastructure that will support small businesses to have more control over their business by building solutions to solve their most difficult and complex problems. Our mission and vision are to use innovative solution to increase economic opportunity for businesses globally.

We're looking for a highly skilled cloud architect who has experience in Azure, who is willing to join and help a small scrappy startup, who has the knowledge and skills to navigate us through potential upcoming pitfalls by lending their advice or skills to our project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning: Assisting our team to plan our architecture online by assisting us to choose the right tools to bring our product online.
  • Research: Continuous learning and research to build a well thought out product that is responsive, cheap, scalable and, agile.
  • Cross-functional teams: Working across multiple teams to accept requirements, discuss progress and challenges and deploy quickly. In addition, help our teams understand the architect and suggestions to our current diagrams.
  • Discover: Work alongside us to define what we need to improve, iterate upon and learn for upcoming challenges we may face.

Job Requirements:

  • Building and working alongside key stakeholders to develop strategic plans for designing cloud architect diagrams.
  • Setting up, managing and advising based on the projects requirements.
  • Must be willing at learning and adopting new technologies.
  • Collaborating with different team members to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Security and compliance best practices.
  • Must have experience working with Azure cloud provider.
  • Assistance in setting up disaster recovery systems.
  • Assisting in cost optimizations to ensure efficiency.
  • Can assist with automation and scripting.
  • Working alongside development, security and operations teams.
  • Discussing with cloud platforms to assist us in releasing and unlocking more credits for our team.

Technical Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with azure portal, azure CLI and Powershell.
  • Strong understanding of azure networking including VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, DNS and Load balancing.
  • Experience working with azure active directory.
  • Experience in designing architect diagrams or assessing existing diagrams for iteration and improvements.
  • Knowledge of azure backup and azure site recovery,
  • Familiarity with azure cost management.
  • Understanding of security tools such asn security centre, azure key vault, azure firewall and azure sentinel.

  • Ability to work with a variety of different disciplines and teams by clearly communicating issues, problems and solutions.

  • Willingness to help and support wherever required.

Limitations of the position:

  • Position is fully remote.
  • This role is unpaid unfortunately as we are not generating any revenue or have raised a VC round as yet.
  • We are unable to sponsor applicants at this time.
  • Must be located in Australia.
