About the role

Propel Business Group is seeking a skilled Accountant (CPA or CA) to join our dynamic team in South Perth, Western Australia. As a key member of our Accounting and Business Advisory division, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive financial services and strategic guidance to our growing client base.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Conducting financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support clients' decision-making processes
  • Providing expert advice on tax planning, compliance, and strategic business initiatives
  • Collaborating with clients to develop and implement tailored accounting solutions
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, legislation, and best practices
  • Overseeing and managing the workflow for a team of 3 accountants.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members to foster their professional development

What we're looking for

  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services or advisory firm
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients
  • Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other relevant business technologies
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused approach to work
