About The Role
As the Team Leader in Housekeeping, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department whilst ensuring adherence to the standards required by the department and the hotel. You will play a large role in the training and supervision of the Housekeeping team to ensure service levels and standard levels are always met.

Working in a team of 30, you will support both the Housekeeping Manager and the Assistant Manager in supervising and managing the day-to-day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the rostering of staff and controlling manning levels regarding occupancy, service quality and, cost.
  • Ordering guest supplies, cleaning supplies, printing and, stationary.
  • Conduct daily operational briefings effectively
  • Assist in ensuring rooms are turned around to meet guest needs
  • Allocate daily duties to Housekeeping staff, monitor their performance, cleanliness standards, presentation of guest rooms and, assist them in their duties as required.
  • Conduct training courses for new associates and refresher courses for existing associates
  • Supervise associates within the department, ensuring that the correct standards and procedures are maintained
  • Assist in the development of staff and the effectiveness of all Housekeeping associates through appropriate training, coaching and/or mentoring
  • Ensuring the departments operational budget is strictly adhered to and all costs are strictly controlled

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2-3 years within Hotel Housekeeping
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Service-oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, effective communicator and, effective in providing exceptional customer service
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and, administrative skills
