NATIONAL BOARD CHAIR – FORTUNA ADVISORY GROUP
The Fortuna Group is one of Australia's fastest growing advisory companies and has been twice listed in the AFR Top 100. It has also been the recipient of many industry awards.
The company provides a range of services to SMEs with its core as the provision of tax advice. Established in 2012 in Western Australia, it has achieved significant growth over the last few years. In addition to tax advice, the company also has separate entities in legal, insurance, financial planning, technology in the provision of IT support services, outsourcing overseas, HR support, Recruitment and finance. The growth has been achieved organically and through numerous acquisitions.
Fortuna Advisory Group has grown rapidly, now operating 16 offices across Western Australia. In 2024, the company marked a major milestone with its first acquisition in Sydney, and additional acquisitions are currently underway to expand its presence across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.
An Advisory Board was established in 2023, comprising the Managing Partners from each Business Unit, and was restructured in 2024 to better align with the evolving strategic direction of the business.
Recognising that the future growth lies in Australia's Eastern States, the Founder and Group CEO is now dedicating significant time and focus to driving acquisition opportunities and building strategic partnerships across these key markets.
Fortuna Advisory Group is entering an exciting phase of growth, driven by a distinctive business model and a strong focus on leveraging technology to enhance client outcomes. As a result, the company is now establishing a formal National Board to support its next stage of expansion.
The Board will comprise an Independent Chair, one Independent Non-Executive Director, the Group CEO, and two internal representatives. This strategic board will provide high-level guidance, governance, and critical oversight to support the CEO in delivering the company's long-term objectives.
We are seeking an experienced National Chair, ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne, with deep expertise in the business advisory sector. The ideal candidate will have:
o A track record of successfully chairing boards and driving strong governance practices
o Extensive business networks and leadership experience
o The ability to build a constructive, advisory relationship with the Group CEO
o A strategic mindset with the capacity to challenge assumptions and ensure accountability

If you would like, and consider you have the expertise to be part of and help steer the organisation and its leader, please send a succinct note of interest to Alan Nelson, Chair of the existing Advisory Board,
