About the Role

Ausnorth Building & Construction are respected construction professionals delivering a range of exceptional services to Clients in the insurance & disablity sectors across multiple states. Following consistent growth an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator / Supervisor to join us in the leadership role of Area Manager Central Queensland.

As the Area Manager you'll be a big part of the wider repair team. You'll be responsible for assessing, estimating and coordinating renovations on small - large residential properties. These will be a mix of Insurance Reinstatement Repair works & Disability Home Modifications. As the Division covers a wide geographical area, there's some regular travel & occasional overnight stays.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite assessments of insured properties to determine damage
  • Identify the difference between insurance related damage and maintenance
  • Create detailed and accurate assessment reports, scopes of works and quotes
  • Work closely with your dedicated project administrator
  • Ensure all work completed conforms to legislative and contractual requirements

About you (the following skills and experience are desirable):

  • Experience in insurance / remedial / renovations / fit-out construction across domestic construction sector.
  • Experience in bathroom re-design / fit-out construction.
  • Experience in building scopes of work on domestic properties.
  • Experience working directly with a diverse range of clients such as building consultants, insurance loss adjusters or allied health professionals.
  • Experience in engaging and encouraging construction related trades and suppliers.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong written & verbal communicator.
  • Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards.
