About the role

The position of Boilermaker forms a key component of the Progress Rail Service team in Redbank. This will join a growing team within the locomotives department conducting overhaul and repairs.

About you

  • Experienced Boilermaker with fabrication experience.
  • Experience medium/heavy fabrication work is desirable.
  • Welding quality of high standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of AUS Standard Welding Codes.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to further your knowledge and skills with additional training.
  • High level record keeping ability.
  • Ability to work shifts and overtime as required.

Skills and experience

  • Trade qualifications.
  • Locomotive experience advantageous but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Previous experience working within a heavy maintenance/ asset management environment preferred but not essential.
  • Certified competency as a forklift operator, overhead crane driver would be advantageous but not essential.
