Bistro Supervisor – Casual/Part-Time (with opportunity for extra hours in other departments)

The Alex Surf Club is one of the largest Surf Clubs in Australia. As a true Community Club, we pride ourselves on carrying that reputation proudly into the future.

We're passionate about providing our Members and Guests with a memorable experience every time they visit.

Our Supporters Club features a 300-seat bistro, main bar, bluff bar, and beachside kiosk. Recently, our kiosk has expanded to include a dine-in café. We also host events for groups ranging from 20 to 250+ people, offer TAB facilities, a gaming lounge, and live music four nights a week. Our dining service is available all day, every day.

As our venue continues to expand and thrive as a leading beachside destination, we're looking for an enthusiastic Bistro Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is a casual/part-time position with the potential for additional hours in other areas of the Club.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily bistro operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Supervise and support front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of presentation.
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members.
  • Assist with staff rosters and help coordinate shift coverage as needed
  • Assist customers with complaints and provide effective solutions on the spot
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and responsible service of alcohol requirements.
About You:
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in hospitality or a bistro/restaurant environment.
  • Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
