Principal Project Manager

Your new role

• Lead and role model customer focus by treating all internal and external customers with honesty, fairness, sensitivity and dignity.
• As directed by the Portfolio Delivery Manager, lead multi-disciplined project teams in the implementation/delivery of project outputs outlined by the project brief and aligned to the project schedule/project plans.
• Manage project planning, by developing and maintaining project schedules, defining scope and creating an accurate resource plan / forecast. Project schedules to include all phases of the project including OCM, Testing and transition to support
• Lead project teams and ensure tasks are completed to schedule, maintain and actively manage RAID logs applying treatment plans and escalating to the Portfolio Delivery Manager where required.
• Manage project progress aligned with the agreed project schedule and forecast, facilitate project meetings and provide status updates.
• Adhere to the published project delivery framework and utilise the endorsed project management tool for all project activities.
• Act as the primary contact for the project with key stakeholders. Build strong and robust relationships with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to deliver aligned with the project schedule and expected outcomes.
• Support project teams to identify risks and challenges and act as mediator to resolve conflict.
• Manage project financials and forecasting accurately using the endorsed tools for reporting and maintenance.
• Work with the Business Transformation team to develop strategies for user adoption, training and support for system and applications.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards

What you'll need to succeed

• year's demonstrated experience in complex ICT organisations delivering fir for purpose and value for money projects.
• – 10 year's demonstrated experience of successfully managing and leading sizeable multi-disciplinary ICT teams involved in delivering medium to large scale, complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability work directly with lead business representatives/project owners often on highly sensitive and confidential matters.
• Demonstrated superior ability to negotiate, influence and manage complex and challenging issues in a sensitive environment, using highly effective relationship building, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify emerging issues, problem solve using sound judgement to develop potential options for resolution.
• Substantial experience in financial management, risk management, planning, resource management and reporting skills.
• Demonstrable experience in successfully managing Tier 1 / Tier 2 Vendors and working collaboratively with key client stakeholders/representatives and internal Information and Communications Technology support and operational personnel.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with executive management, peers and technical consultants/specialists both internal and external.
• Experience and qualifications in methodologies (PMBok or PRINCE2, Agile Fundamentals)
• Project Online, Microsoft Project Professional, M365, D356
• Strong written communication skills
