About the opportunity
We are looking for a highly experienced Procurement and/or Contracts Manager who can effectively manage a high-functioning team responsible for the delivery of Procurement and Sub Contracting functions for Boeing Defence Australia and broader Boeing Australia entities. The successful candidate will manage strategic relationships - both internal and external, contractual establishment and renewal with critical and major suppliers, oversee negotiations, and be responsible for ensuring organisational commitments and expectations are met. The successful candidate will ensure monitoring of supplier quality, delivery, and financial performance, as well as providing oversight and direction to ensure successful integration of our supply base and functional business units.
This position can be based at a number of major centers including; Brisbane/SEQLD, Newcastle, or Adelaide.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service and support requirements and performance to contractual obligations and expectations.
- Manage and mentor team delivery and performance against agreed outputs.
- Lead the development and implementation of mitigation plans to avoid risk and resolve issues impacting the supply chain.
- Develop and implement supplier base plans to support supply chain optimization.
- Be an integral part of the BDA Supply Chain Management team and contribute to the business growth strategy.
- Analyze supplier and business processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities and incorporate into the BDA supply chain.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated 5 years + experience in Procurement and/or Contracting Portfolio Management. (Defence Industry or Government experience highly desirable)
- Experience managing supply vendor relationships and deliverables (Domestic and International vendor management experience highly desirable)
- Experience conducting strategic workforce planning, including the management of geographically dispersed teams to meet multiple project demands.
- The ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, establishing and promoting supply chain process improvements.
