North Shore Coaching College is a national provider of out-of-school hours academic tuition services for students in Pre-School to Year 12, with over 65 campuses across Australia and China. Founded in 1991, North Shore Coaching College has helped thousands of students to improve and reach their potential by delivering quality educational services.

We are looking for a passionate, commercially minded and technically capable hands-on Software Developer to join our small IT team in Chatswood, NSW in some new exciting education projects which will shape learning for students of the future.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will be diverse and include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Participate in every stage of the software development process, from design and implementation to testing, maintenance, integration, and documentation

  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code

  • Build and sustain a robust and scalable cloud framework using technologies such as AWS

  • Work independently while collaborating closely with team members

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent discipline

  • 2 years proven software development experience

  • Advanced proficiency in WordPress website development (HTML, CSS, plugins, themes, page builders)

  • Proficiency in VueJS, ReactJs, NodeJs, Typescript and Python

  • Familiarity with MySQL or related databases

  • Experience with Git, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines

  • Be available for calls outside of normal business hours in case of IT "emergencies"

  • Be available to work for one day on the weekend

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new things

  • Responsible and able to work under pressure

  • Collaborative approach to teamwork and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and adjust strategies, as necessary

  • The following skills are desirable (not mandatory but preferred):

    • UI design or basic video editing experience

    • Familiarity with CRMs (HubSpot, Zoho, etc.) and marketing automation

    • Develop high-performing campaigns across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)

    • Exposure to Big Data and AI would be an advantage

    • Ability to write and speak other languages

    • Prior experience or interest in education
