About the team

About the role
  • Oversee and mentor a small team of data scientists on model validation projects
  • Collaborate closely with model developers to review and challenge AI and ML models
  • Drive the adoption of modern tooling, including Python, JupyterLab, GitHub and generative AI platforms
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new validation frameworks and processes
  • Champion best practice in modelling, documentation and risk management
  • Help shape strategic initiatives that transform how we validate models across the Group
We're interested in hearing from people who
  • Have been on a career break for two years or more
  • Hold permanent Australian working rights
  • Bring at least 5 years of experience building or validating AI or ML models (ideally in banking or financial services)
  • Are familiar with modern analytics tools and methods, including Python, ML techniques, GitHub and JupyterLab
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity for a range of audiences
  • Hold a degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, data science, statistics, actuarial studies or physics
