Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is a professional services company providing a wide range of technical support and aerodrome management services to aerodrome owners and operators across Australia. Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, training, regulatory compliance, audits and ongoing daily operations.

About the Role

We're currently seeking a motivated and safety-focused Relief Ground Handlers to join our high-performing team on our operational sites across regional Australia. Working on various rosters from Perth, this role is ideal for the individual who enjoys physical, hands-on work in a fast-paced and safety-critical environment.

You'll be an essential part of the ground handling team, ensuring the smooth and safe turnaround of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.


• Coordinating the safe and timely loading/unloading of passengers, baggage, and freight


• Assisting with aircraft turnaround in line with operator schedules


• Receipt and dispatch of all aircraft arrivals and departures


• Marshalling and escorting passengers across airside areas


• Operating and performing routine checks on ground service equipment (GSE) and company vehicles


• Ensuring safe delivery of baggage and freight, including handling of Dangerous Goods


• Preparing ground equipment allocations in line with scheduled arrivals (SWMPs)


• Maintaining high housekeeping standards in terminal and airside areas, including cyclone readiness


• Supporting operational training and mentoring of other staff as directed


• Adhering to Safe Work Procedures and reporting all hazards, incidents, or risks


• Performing limited relief ARO duties, where qualified and required


• Participating in team rotations and toolbox meetings

About You

You understand the vital importance of aerodromes to the aviation industry and you already know this niche sector has a lot going for it AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you'll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas:


• Previous ground handling experience


• Previous experience in aerodrome ramp operations


• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines and achieve outcomes


• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholders including members of the community, clients, other staff and contractors onsite


• First Aid Certificate


• Dangerous Goods Acceptance


• Current manual drivers' license
