Sorbello's also offers one of the most extensive wine selections in the region, complemented by cocktails, beer, and spirits, creating a complete dining experience.

To sustain its operations and uphold its reputation, Sorbello's requires experienced culinary staff who can deliver consistent quality in a high-demand environment.

We are seeking a qualified Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. The role is essential in carrying out day-to-day food preparation and cooking tasks, ensuring dishes are prepared consistently to the restaurant's standards and reflect Sorbello's Italian heritage and reputation for quality dining.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with the restaurant's standards and customer expectations.
  • Season, portion, and present food consistently to maintain quality.
  • Assist with preparing ingredients and ensuring mise en place is ready for service.
  • Monitor cooking processes and maintain consistency across dishes.
  • Check freshness of ingredients and ensure proper storage and stock rotation.
  • Support senior kitchen staff in menu execution and special events.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Contribute to minimising waste and assist with supply ordering when required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • At least 2 years' employment experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
  • Practical knowledge of Italian cuisine and ability to cook a variety of dishes.
  • Competence in food handling, storage, and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
