The opportunity:

Want to do more than just spotting or basic trade work? Here's your shot. 

We're chasing switched-on Trades Assistants who want to get a foot in the door of the lifting and rigging game?— the serious end of the trade. You'll get hands-on with the big gear, work alongside experienced techs, and learn the ropes (literally). 

At Yura Yarta, we'll train you up, get you qualified, and give you the experience to move into full-blown Lifting & Rigging Technician roles. The kind of jobs that pay proper money, come with travel, and actually make you proud of what you do. 

Not just your average rigger — we're talking heavy lifts, complex jobs, and real engineering muscle. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of lifting and rigging gear

  • Helping install cranes, hoists, ropes, and lifting components

  • Getting hands-on with tools, gear, and heavy equipment

  • Supporting certified inspections and height safety checks

  • Learning the trade from experienced lifting legends

  • Taking on training that sets you up for a career, not just a job

The successful applicant will have:

  • Some experience in the resources, construction, or mechanical trades game will help

  • Good mechanical sense — you like working things out and getting your hands dirty

  • Eager to learn, train up, and take on more responsibility

  • Safety-first attitude (you know when to have a laugh and when to switch on)

  • Happy to travel when the work calls for it

  • Bonus points if you've got a forklift, dogging, or EWP ticket — if not, we'll get you there
