About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Financial Lines Claims Handler, with experience managing professional indemnity claims involving financial planners. You will be confident in assessing the nature and extent of a claim and expert in negotiating the settlement of the claim, providing a seamless end-to-end claims experience for the customer.

You will be surrounded and supported by a high-performing and warm team that will enable you to do your best work, where there is a high degree of integrity to help meet and exceed customer expectations.

Please note that the internal position title is Claims Consultant, however possible similar searchable position titles are Claims Manager, Claims Management Officer, Claims Executive, Claims Adjuster. We are open to applicants who reside outside of the advertised location/s.


About You

You will be a calm; confident and highly competent Financial Lines Claims Handler that will:

  • Be an expert communicator; empathetic nature; great listener – able to communicate concisely and tailor messaging (verbal and written) to their intended audience, which translates to high calibre reports/outcomes for our clients.
  • Have experience with the interpretation and application of Professional Indemnity policies and the regulatory processes involving Australian Financial Services Licencing.
  • Be a problem solver and have a curious persona; searches for the root cause/s and proactively finds solutions throughout the claim journey.
  • Be intrinsically driven to provide highest level of customer service that is always thoughtful and timely.
  • Have a growth mindset that values continuous learning and absorbs new information and change with ease.
  • Be resilient and focused on achieving positive outcomes for your key stakeholders.


Key Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years financial lines claims handling experience (essential) involving financial planners (highly desirable)
  • Experience with claims management systems
  • Certificate IV in financial Services (General Insurance Tier 1) (desirable)
  • Willing to undertake further study and training as identified to support and enhance position requirements
  • Ability to operate autonomously
  • Ability to work to deadlines
