Are you an experienced Claims professional with strong Accident & Health expertise who shares these values and is ready to make a meaningful impact? We are looking for a Senior Claims Specialist to join our Accident & Health team. We will also consider candidate at Claims Technical Lead level.

Key responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Claims professional to support the management and resolution of Accident & Health claims in line with Liberty's principles. This role provides oversight and acts as one of the key referral points for Third Party Administrators (TPAs) managing outsourced claims and emergency assistance cases. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver exceptional claims service across the broker and client lifecycle.

  • Ensure claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and in compliance with Liberty's Claims Value Proposition, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to external service providers (TPAs) regarding policy coverage, investigations, and claim settlements.
  • Authorise claim payments within authority limits and monitor reserve adequacy in line with company philosophy.
  • Act as one point of contact for new and ongoing worldwide emergency assistance cases including tiered after-hours support.
  • Escalation of sensitive or contentious claims, as needed.
  • Assist with the delivery of audits and key compliance controls to relevant stakeholders
  • Support training and coaching to service providers to maintain high claims handling standards.
  • Manage complaints and dispute resolution processes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with internal teams, brokers, clients, and service providers.
  • Participate in Australia based broker, client, and service provider meetings to support claims management and portfolio insights.
  • Demonstrate leadership by integrating claims functions with other business units and embodying Liberty's core values.
  • Take initiative in ongoing professional development and perform additional duties as assigned.

About you:

  • Proven extensive experience managing Accident & Health claims within the insurance industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Accident & Health insurance products, regulations, and claims processes.
  • Sound understanding of APRA, AFCA, ASIC regulatory frameworks, the General Insurance Code of Practice, and the Insurance Contracts Act.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and claims management systems.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in insurance or related disciplines are desirable.
