The opportunity:
Based at our recycling, glass manufacturing facility located in Penrith, we currently have a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing manager and or a lower-level operational leader wanting to springboard their career to the next level.
This autonomous role will be accountable for the leadership and management of all aspects of operations, including, safety, people management, quality, and financials.
Reporting to the State Operations Manager, the key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure safe operations in accordance with Visy's policies and procedures and ensure all quality systems are complied with.
- Management of site budgets, conversion costs and financial integrity.
- Provide leadership, direction, and development to the team within the facility and management of direct reports (headcount of 20 FTE + casuals and contractors).
- Manage all aspects of the use of contractors, including agency casuals, maintenance, services, and contractors.
- Ensure that production stays on schedule and quality standards are met.
- Look for process improvement opportunities.
What you will bring to the team:
- Relevant qualifications in manufacturing, business, or engineering would be beneficial.
- Prior leadership experience working within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS office products, Word, Excel, SharePoint.
- Ability to understand and read P&L reports and balance sheets.
