About the role:

  • $33-36 p/h casual starting rate depending on experience which will convert to fulltime permanent rate after probational period 0f 3-6 months
  • Driving modern automatic MR trucks
  • Operating skip loader
  • Fulltime hours Mon-Friday 6am-2.30pm with regular overtime
  • Immediate start with 1-2 weeks training
  • Ongoing work leading to fulltime after probation period
  • Parking at truck yard, Archerfield

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Focus on safety at all times, adhere to all road rules
  • Taking extreme care when unloading and loading skips at customers property and at yard
  • Perform daily pre-start up checks, vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks
  • Deliver and pick up skip bins around Brisbane and Logan areas
  • Cover and secure loads
  • Tip skip bins at transfer station in Archerfield and return to base yard and reload.
  • Wear PPE and a hardhat at transfer station
  • Communicate via a 2-way radio with transfer station machine operators
  • Follow instructions for drop off addresses and skip locations
  • Operate equipment safely at all times
  • Other duties as required

Skills and experience:

  • A current Australian MR/HR truck license and proven driving experience
  • Availability Monday to Friday 6am - 3.30pm
  • Must be Punctual and reliable
  • Experience in driving Skip Trucks is an advantage however not essential as the right candidate will undergo supervised training and development
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions on the phone, via sms and on two-way radio
  • Great work ethics, communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, police check and D&A test
