Position OverviewThe successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators ranging from 3t to 30t on a variety of civil construction projects around Newcastle and the Central Coast areas. This role requires experience in detailed trench work and bulk excavation, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Potential for full time employment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Operate excavators of various sizes to complete civil construction tasks.
- Conduct bulk earthworks, trenching, detailed excavation, and backfilling.
- Work from and interpret construction plans and site instructions.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and basic servicing of equipment.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with general labouring duties when required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, site managers, and other crew members.
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators in a civil construction environment.
- Current Excavator Ticket (RIIMPO320 or equivalent).
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- Current driver's license (HR or MR license is a must).
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
