About the role
The position of Student Support Officer is primarily responsible for providing strong administrative support to the Vocational Education and Training (VET) team. The position is a key point of contact for the department across the university with students and staff. The position reports to the Operations Manager, Vocational Education Training (VET).
Key Responsibilities- Support the VET team with daily administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate student records as per ASQA compliance.
- Audit student files at course completion and cancellation, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist students with enrolments, progress, and certification queries.
- Manage data in registers and ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) / Learning Management Systems (LMS) systems and program information is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate meetings and prepare reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders to support VET operations.
- Follow all university policies and compliance standards
- A relevant Degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
- Demonstrated administrative capability with previous experience within the Vocational Education and Training sector, particularly a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Demonstrated prior experience in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) work environment with knowledge and understanding of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) training packaging requirements and experience with government funded programs.
- Proficient in the application of MS Office program suite and an ability to work across different computer systems including Learning Management Systems (LMS's) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM's) systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact with all students, staff and with external stakeholders.
- Strong operational administration skills, able to remain composed and effectively prioritise tasks with competing deadlines.
- Excellent at organising tasks and managing time efficiently, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of initiative, flexibility, and proactive solution development.
