About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

About the Role:

These roles are based at Ward 7, a 25-bed Women's Acute Mental Health Unit at Northern Hospital and will be responsible for the effective day to day clinical management of the unit.

As a pivotal part of the leadership team, you will drive clinical excellence, foster a positive and supportive environment, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of women in our care.

Currently we have both part time and full time roles available at our Epping Hospital.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A current registration with AHPRA and a Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • You will have extensive clinical experience and expertise in mental health with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience in variety of mental health settings
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with staff and other service providers
  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • Active leadership in Recovery Oriented Practice in line with the National Recovery Framework
