About the role
Esilio Wines is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Restaurant & Functions Manager to join our team at our winery in Uleybury, South Australia. This is a full-time position working closely with our Venue Manager to ensure the smooth and professional running of our restaurant, cellar door, and event operations. Required days Wednesday through to Sunday, mainly lunch service and Friday evenings.
Set among rolling vineyards with sweeping views of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Esilio Wines has become a destination for relaxed dining, vibrant cellar door experiences, and unforgettable celebrations. As our venue continues to grow, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for exceptional hospitality and creating moments that leave a lasting impression.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Venue Manager with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, cellar door, and event spaces
- Coordinating and delivering private functions, weddings, and special events
- Leading and supporting the front-of-house team to ensure consistently outstanding service
- Managing bookings, event enquiries, and guest communication with professionalism and care
- Handling customer feedback and resolving issues promptly and positively
- Monitoring stock levels and coordinating with kitchen and bar teams
- Ensuring all RSA, health, and safety requirements are met
- Assisting with marketing and promotional initiatives to grow the venue's profile
- Providing staff training, mentoring, and performance support
- Acting as Venue Manager in their absence
What we're looking for
- A dedicated hospitality professional with a love for wine, food, and people
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Experience managing or supervising a restaurant or functions venue
- Confidence in coordinating events and group dining experiences
- Sound understanding of wine service and responsible alcohol management
- Proficiency with hospitality and business systems including Now Book It, Lightspeed, Microsoft Office applications, Canva, and Shopify
- Current RSA certification
- A hands-on, team-focused attitude and commitment to long-term growth with us
- Must have Australian working rights
