The Opportunity:
We have an exceptional opportunity for a capable and motivated Compliance Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in strengthening Forestry Corporation's compliance culture and ensuring we meet our regulatory and internal obligations.

About the role
In this role, you'll provide assurance that individuals and the organisation are meeting their compliance responsibilities across designated functions, programs and activities. You'll also contribute to investigations, helping identify root causes and implement actions that prevent recurrence.
You'll support the Corporation's engagement with external regulators, particularly the NSW Environment Protection Authority, and assist in developing and delivering training and communication initiatives that promote positive compliance practices.
Working collaboratively across the business, you'll contribute to strategic planning, system improvements, and key initiatives that enhance our overall compliance performance and organisational integrity.
We would love you to have/be:
You are a self-motivated, highly organised professional with a positive 'can-do' attitude and a genuine commitment to promoting a strong compliance culture. You bring a proactive and analytical approach, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions that support operational excellence.
You'll have experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory assurance—ideally in environmental or operational settings—and strong attention to detail. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
You are confident using data and systems to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement, and hold tertiary qualifications in law, governance, environmental science, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
You'll bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg. Risk management, auditing, natural resource management, environmental management, legal qualifications or experience, investigative experience and/or equivalent experience.
 - Strong interpersonal skills to assess and improve our compliance performance
 - Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters effectively
 - Value the NSW timber industry and understand the role of environmental compliance in ensuring continuing social licence
 - Experience delivering operational training and hold qualifications in training and assessment is desirable but not essential.
