We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer of Speech Pathology. As a Speech Pathology Educator at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of speech pathology education. You'll contribute to the delivery and development of the Master of Speech Pathology course, focusing on excellence in teaching and student support. This role offers you the opportunity to work in modern facilities in central Melbourne, collaborating with a dynamic team to create outstanding learning experiences for students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver Engaging Education: Conduct tutorials, practical classes, and workshops, while assisting with lecture content across the curriculum.
  • Develop and Assess Student Skills: Assist in the development, supervision, and assessment of clinical exams and written assessments.
  • Contribute to Course Improvement: Participate in course review processes and discussions on curriculum and pedagogy enhancements.
  • Engage with the Wider Community: Promote the discipline through participation in university events and external activities.

You are a qualified speech pathologist with a passion for education, bringing experience in teaching and a commitment to fostering exceptional learning experiences for students in a collaborative academic environment.

You may also:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology, with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
  • Have experience in teaching, tutoring, and developing educational materials and assessments.
  • Possess strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Have a sound understanding of current trends and issues in speech pathology education.

Your new team - Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology

The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology is a research and teaching department within the Melbourne School of Health Sciences, in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Our Department offers graduate-entry Masters Courses in both Speech Pathology and Audiology. The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology has an international reputation in pioneering research in speech sciences including discovery of genetic causes of speech disorders and development of biofeedback treatments for progressive neurological diseases and has strong research links with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
