About the role:
The position of Planner Supply Chain is accountable for all inventory/part planning matters. Accountabilities include determining demand related inventory/part requirements, dissemination of inventory/part demand through Supply Chain, accuracy and upkeep of inventory/part masters and lead times, identification of opportunities to drive year-on-year reductions in inventory, route cause analysis on DIFOT failures and finally expediating of inventory where required.
This includes:
- Determining all long/medium-term inventory/part requirements settings (through to Maintenance Planning) based on aggregated forecast/planned demand by asset type/class and maintenance event.
- Setting DIFOT (new materials) targets and driving improvements in DIFOT, irrespective of supply source.
- Accountable for delivering inventory/part DIFOT to internal and external customers.
- Accountable for disseminating forecast/planned demand and inventory/part requirements associated with that demand through Supply Chain.
- Ensuring Supply Chain actually delivers internal DIFOT to the facilities production schedule, given core pool size and inventory/part lead times.
- Being accountable for the accurate upkeep of supply chain master data, including inventory/part masters and lead times.
- Identifying (for delivery) inventory/part opportunities to drive 3%+ year-on-year reductions in inventory/part holdings.
About you:
- Degree, Diploma, Planning (APICS) or Systems/Information Technology qualification.
- Continuous improvement/quality (six sigma, TQM, lean).
- 5 years original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or rail, aviation, logistics, mining or supply chain industry experience.
- 5 years supply chain planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated rail industry knowledge, including regulations and regulators, rail operator parameters and SHE requirements.
- Significant ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, AX, D365 ……..) experience.
- Demonstratable knowledge of quality processes and systems.
