We are looking for a Clinical Lead with relevant experience to join a large dynamic team of educators and support staff at Alta-1 College.

At Alta-1 we recognise that adverse life experiences can impact a student's sense of self-worth, motivation and capacity for learning, making engagement in a mainstream school setting difficult.

As an independent, co-educational, CARE (Curriculum and Reengagement in Education) School, Alta-1 is a Christian organisation which works with students from years 7-12. We work with at-risk young people providing them with wrap around support as they go on a journey of transformation to discover their unique sense of identity and purpose. These relationships serve as the foundation for effective teaching and learning, allowing us to better understand and support the unique needs and aspirations of each student.

If successful, you will be responsible for overseeing therapeutic service delivery in the region and supporting the implementation of our Stronger Systems Model. Working closely with the Regional Principal, key components of the role include team leadership and coordination, student support, promoting staff wellbeing, and responding to student risk concerns.

You are highly relational.

You understand that healthy relationships are key to promoting effective outcomes and can quickly build rapport with staff and students from diverse backgrounds. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you provide tailored strategies to address complex student needs and enhance team effectiveness and functioning.

You facilitate effective leadership and staff support.

Your role is to lead, coordinate and support the therapeutic team in your region. You enjoy mentoring and facilitating growth in others and can effectively manage the competing demands of your own workload and supporting a team. You can provide timely constructive feedback and have challenging conversation with staff when required.

You take a trauma informed approach to student care.

You employ a trauma informed approach to student care and advocate for safety, choice, collaboration and respect for diversity. You support the team to understand complex behaviours and respond to student needs with patience and sensitivity. Your clinical insight and skills are used to promote compassionate support and a healthy culture.

You are empathetic and maintain a calm and professional environment in crisis.

You will be called upon to respond to risk concerns and manage critical incidents to positive outcomes. Your priority is staff and student wellbeing and your ability to remain calm under pressure will help you navigate complex and demanding situations. You are a hands-on team leader and proactive in supporting students and staff.
