We are looking for a Junior Production Engineer to join our Engineering Team based in Forrestfield on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for working closely with the production team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality trailers.

As a Junior Production Engineer you will play a pivotal role in analysing production processes, identify areas for improvement, offer solutions and assist with production goals.

This position is/includes:

• Full-time permanent role.
• Monday – Friday.
• Free onsite parking.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Develop a basic understanding of trailer subsystems such as air, electric, and hydraulic systems.
• Create and update schematics for air, electric, and hydraulic systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for trailer components and subsystems.
• Support the generation and maintenance of air, electric, and hydraulic system schematics for production use.
• Contribute to updates and improvements in fabrication and assembly procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and maintain high-quality standards
• Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement production schedules that meet customer demands and optimize resource utilisation.
• Assist in the design and rating of jigs and fixtures to improve the manufacturing process.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all trailers meet industry standards and customer expectations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless production processes.
• Assist with continuous improvement for relevant product line.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Experience working within a Manufacturing environment (preferred).
• 2D Drawing Software (AutoCAD).
• 3D Design Software (Inventor preferred).
• ERP (Epicor preferred).
• Ability to work with all internal departments to achieve the desired results.
• Sound communication skills.
• Motivated, diligent and organised.
• Sound time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
