Details: Do you want to make a SPLASH in an ENERGETIC and progressive team? Utilities Technical Regulation work with gas, electricity and water utility providers to ensure secure supplies of the essential services Canberrans' rely on every day.
An exciting opening in the Water team has been created to undertake regulatory activities for dams, water and sewerage networks and stormwater harvesting and reuse schemes. Working flexibly in a hybrid environment, the Utilities Technical Regulation team consists of regulatory officers, project officers, policy officers, engineers and consultants. Under the guidance of a senior officer, you will be responsible for:
- Administering technical codes applying to regulated utility services for the Canberra community to ensure safety, infrastructure integrity, customer connectivity, environmental protection and emergency preparedness.
- Building regulatory relationships with regulated utilities that construct, own and/or operate water infrastructure and provide regulated water services to the Canberra community.
- Contributing to regulatory oversight and improvement through review of technical reports/codes and plans, drafting of guidance materials, preparing regulatory documentation and tracking actions.
A key requirement of the role is the provision of quality written work, especially correspondence and briefings to the Technical Regulator, but you should also have a good communication skills as well.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Hold a demonstrably relevant professional qualification to the role (for example in policy, science or engineering) and/or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia.
- Hold a current C-class driver's license.
Notes: Part-time employment arrangements will be considered, and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. The Utilities Technical Regulation team is currently working in a hybrid environment of home and the Dickson Office Building. The successful candidate will be provided information on how to work from home safely and effectively. A merit pool will be created from the selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
