  • Assistant Fruit & Veg Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Fruit & Vegetable Manager to join our team. If you have a passion for high-quality produce, proven leadership skills, and are ready to step up, we want to hear from you

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the department manager in overseeing daily operations of the Fruit & Vegetable department.
  • Manage and mentor team members, ensuring high standards of product display, stocking, and customer service.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and ensure proper handling and rotation of fresh produce to minimise waste.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently for moving and organising stock within the market and storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a retail fruit and vegetable department, ideally in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Valid Forklift Operator Licence (a non-negotiable requirement).
  • Strong knowledge of produce handling, seasonality, quality standards, and merchandising techniques.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
