We are seeking an experienced and talented chef to join our team at Locale Bronte. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of our local, friendly cafe and contribute to the overall success of our business.

Chef responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality, creative dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Maintaining excellent standard of food presentation and portion control
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and optimise kitchen operation
  • Work closely with other staff monitor feedback on popularity of all dishes
  • Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assisting with inventory management and stock control
  • Providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive team culture
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment ensuring compliance with all food safety legislation and food handling policies and procedures
  • Managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the kitchen

What we're looking for

  1. Significant experience in a reputable restaurant or similar hospitality establishment (1 year minimum )
  2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and current food trends
  3. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to handle a fast-paced environment
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
  5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive kitchen culture
  6. Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, Culinary Arts or a related field
