Deliver a sustainable future with WA's landmark urea project
This role is on a 19:9 rotation to our Perdaman project in Karratha, WA.
Clough, as part of a Joint Venture with Saipem, is delivering the Project 'CERES' urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.
We are currently searching for Senior Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our site-based team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical systems, components, and installations in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, supervising junior inspectors, and maintaining detailed documentation to support quality assurance efforts.

Your focus will include
- Perform inspections of mechanical equipment, piping, welding, and installations to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality plans.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality documentation.
- Monitor and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material traceability.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in internal and external audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during inspections.
What you will bring to the team
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in mechanical quality control, preferably in oil & gas industry.
- Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
- Proficient in using inspection tools and reporting software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on a 19:9 roaster.
