About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Office of the Chief Executive Office team as the Director of Communications, where you will be responsible for:
- Lead the WCHN Media and Communications portfolio by delivering strategic programs, projects, and services that support the Network's strategic and operational objectives.
- Develop and implement proactive, data-driven Media and Communications strategies aligned with best practice and organisational priorities.
- Build and lead a high-performing Media and Communications team recognised for stakeholder engagement, organisational knowledge, and media expertise.
- Harness all media platforms to enhance the organisation's reputation, support health literacy initiatives, and provide expert advice on major organisational projects.
- Act as the primary liaison with the Department for Health and Wellbeing Media Team to ensure effective proactive and reactive media engagement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Media, or a related field, with post-graduate qualifications or equivalent senior level experience.
- Highly skilled in building strong stakeholder relationships founded on trust and mutual respect, delivering strategic and trusted communications advice, and driving influential media and brand-building initiatives.
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to identify risks and opportunities, analyse complex issues, and design innovative, effective communications strategies.
- Extensive leadership experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating high impact media and communications programs that align with organisational priorities and enhance reputation.
- Accomplished leader of high performing communications and media teams, collaborating with executives, managers, and staff to achieve both strategic and operational objectives in high-profile, externally focused organisations.
