About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Community and Regional Engagement and as a member of the broader leadership team of the International and External Engagement portfolio, the Director: MOD. is responsible for the successful leadership, ongoing development and management of the Museum of Discovery (MOD.). Through its strategic plan and implementation, the Director will work to position MOD. as a leading Australian and international futures orientated museum and interactive gallery.
The Director: MOD. has overall responsibility for the design and production of exhibitions and programs, brand and engagement, operations and visitor services as well as external stakeholder relationships with artists, suppliers, industry stakeholders, external researchers, and community groups. They collaborate with senior staff and specialist areas of the University on sponsorship and fundraising, staff and financial management, marketing, and stakeholder, student and community relations.

To be successful you will need
- Tertiary qualifications in a field relevant to the role together with significant experience knowledge and skills that include a deep understanding of STEAM outreach and participation
- Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate vision and strategy and inspire the engagement of others
- Proven experience in leadership and management of a cultural institution or science outreach facility
- Highly effective interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
