An exciting opportunity has become available for the right person to join a dynamic team of education professionals at one of Palmerston's most respected schools.
Durack School OSHC is seeking a full-time, passionate Assistant Director to support our Director in leading the daily operations of a thriving and high-quality education and care service.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Director to implement programs and practices that reflect the values and mission of Durack School, ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn through play, recreation and leisure.
About the Role
The Assistant Director will:
- Support the Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the service.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to educators, fostering a positive, professional and inclusive team culture.
- Assist in planning and delivering high-quality programs that align with the relevant frameworks - including the National Quality Framework and MTOP
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and reflective practice across all areas of the service.
- Build respectful and collaborative relationships with families, school leadership, and the wider community.
- Ensure that all administrative processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Support the Director with staff rostering, enrolments, policy implementation, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for all children.
About You
You are a motivated and experienced early childhood or OSHC professional who demonstrates:
- A genuine passion for working with school-aged children in an engaging, play-based environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Sound knowledge of the legistation and National Quality Standard
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and to model best practice in all interactions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma (or higher) in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
- Current working with children clearnace (Ochre Card)
- Current First Aid relevant for Early Childhood Education and Care
- Experience in a leadership or 2IC/Assistant Director role within an OSHC or ECEC setting is desirable.
