Project Accountant

The role

As part of our Finance group, the Project Accountant will be responsible for providing financial management to support the execution of the Enterprise Partnering Agreement (EPA) and other programs as required. The EPA Project Accountant will be an active member of the Saab Finance Team and will contribute to the overall performance of the Finance Group.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide end to end financial support
  • Develop program financial plans
  • Establish and manage the monthly financial reporting, forecasts and budgets
  • Develop IFRS 15 documentation and ensure revenue is being recognised in accordance with IFRS 15
  • Reviewing and validating the estimate to complete on each task
  • Monthly completion of the Variance Analysis Reports (VARs)
  • Maintain a summary of all EPA tasking orders to provide a whole of program financial overview
  • Manage financial reporting requirements of the customer
  • Prepare escalation calculations
  • Monitor and report on KPI's for "fee at risk"
  • Generate invoicing
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including internal and external customers
  • Comply with legislation and company policies, processes and instructions

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role post successful probation and approval from the manager.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (Commerce, Business or Accounting)
  • Demonstrated experience in project financial principles, including earned value management, project accounting, cost estimation processes, profit and risk sharing mechanisms
  • Strong acumen with Excel, Power Point, PowerBI, Agresso.
  • Proven ability to communicate in a positive manner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1/NV2 level. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
