BHM Geotechnical Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Civil Engineer to join our expert team in Sydney. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of civil and geotechnical engineering projects. What you'll be doing

• Maintain clear, accurate, and legible site records, including borehole logs, test pit logs, and field observations
• Ensure all documentation is neat, systematically filed, and conforms to internal document control protocols under our Business Management System (BMS)
• Complete and check all field logs and reports prior to submission for drafting, ensuring quality and consistency in line with AS1726:2017 and internal standards
• Adhere to project timelines and deliver field investigation outputs on schedule to support timely reporting to clients
• Comply fully with BHM's certified Business Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001), including safety, environmental, and quality protocols
• Implement all applicable field procedures and checklists to ensure thorough preparation, execution, and documentation of fieldwork
• Conduct services checks, safety assessments, and access evaluations prior to fieldwork commencement
• Coordinate effectively with Project Engineers/Directors, drillers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless on-site operations
• Record and report any deviations, non-conformances, or site incidents in accordance with BMS nonconformity procedures
• Support continuous improvement by participating in internal audits and implementing lessons learned from previous fieldwork

## Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• A genuine interest in geotechnical engineering and a strong commitment to developing technical expertise in the field
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in diverse site environments, often under varying weather conditions
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and apply creative solutions to complex challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• A proactive, adaptable mindset with a focus on continuous learning and professional growth
• A commitment to upholding quality, safety, and environmental standards in alignment with our certified Business Management System
• Australian citizenship is required for this position
